During the inaugural 2011 Toronto Leather Pride weekend, the sexual diversities’ community, made up of all sexual orientations, congregated for an unofficial Leather Pride March in protest of the exclusion of fetish from the then newly branded “Family Friendly” Church Street Fair. Following the cancellation of the fair altogether, the community continues its journey for its right to visibility, recognition, identity and to have fun with the inclusion of the Leather Pride March to the line-up of scheduled events.
Organizers of the first march named it after the meeting time. It was simply known as “Toronto 3:33.” The date was Sunday, August 14, 2011. The Toronto Leather Pride March has been held annually ever since.
