Sash Wife [Edit]

Sash wife is a term given to the significant other of a titleholder in the leather or kink community, regardless of the gender of the significant other. In fact, the term is usually used ironically to refer to the male significant other of a gay male titleholder.

Sash wife may also refer to the female titleholder counterpart of a male titleholder. For example, International Ms. Leather is sometimes referred to as the sash wife of International Mr. Leather.

Sash Widow

The term sash widow is a variation on sash wife. It refers to an individual who has broken up with their titleholder significant other over the course of their title year, the reference being that the individual has been “widowed” thanks to the duties of the sash.
