Midori (美登里) [Edit]
Midori (美登里) is a sexuality writer, speaker, and sex educator. She writes on alternative sexual practices, including BDSM (especially bondage, including kinbaku), foot fetishism, and shoe fetishism. She is based in San Francisco, California.
Early Life
Midori was born in Kyoto, Japan, of Japanese and German parents. She grew up in Tokyo and moved to the United States at age fourteen.
Sex-Related Work
Early in Midori’s career she worked as a condom manufacturer’s sales representative.
Midori spent a few years as a sex educator with San Francisco Sex Information.
She wrote Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage (2002), Wild Side Sex: The Book of Kink: Educational, Sensual, And Entertaining Essays (2005, published by Daedalus Publishing), The Toybag Guide to Foot and Shoe Worship (2005), and Master Han’s Daughter: Tales from Depraved NeoTokyo (2006).
Midori currently teaches courses internationally on sex, feminine dominance, and kinbaku.
Honors
In 2003, Midori received the “Woman of the Year” award as part of the Pantheon of Leather Awards.
In 2019, she became an inductee of the Society of Janus Hall of Fame.
