The Cougar Leather Club Inc (1996-) was established in Adelaide, South Australia in September 1996 by Garry McCormack and Tony Hemming for ‘people living in, interested in or curious about a leather, denim or uniform lifestyle as well as other associated interests. The mainstay event of the Club was their twice monthly bar night at The Whatsheaf Hotel, a local pub in the inner west of Adelaide.

The Club also catered to the local bear community, becoming a successful bear/leather hybrid club.
