Clovis Trouille [Edit]

Clovis Trouille (1889-1975) was a French artist. One of his common subjects was sex, as shown for example in Lust (1959), his portrait of the Marquis de Sade sitting in the foreground of a landscape decorated with a tableau of various debaucheries, and a “madly egoistic bravado” employed in a self-mocking style.

In 2019 the National Leather Association – International created the Erotic Art Awards; the awards include the Clovis Trouille Award (for surrealism).
