Bert Herrman (1946-2013), also known as Herbert Herrman, was an American author, publisher, and expert on fisting (which he preferred to call handballing).

Gay-Related Writing

Herrman wrote Being, Being Happy, Being Gay: Pathways to a Rewarding Life for Lesbians and Gay Men (1990) and Trust: The Hand Book: A Guide to the Sensual and Spiritual Art of Handballing (1991).

Herrman also founded Alamo Square Press, which published gay-related writing.

Honors

In 2017, the art installation known as the San Francisco South of Market Leather History Alley was installed; in it Bert Herrman (among others) is honored with a bronze bootprint displaying his name and a short statement about him.
